Principal's Bio

      After a brief career in retail management with Hess's Department stores and Bugle Boy USA, Dr. Rich started teaching in Catoosa County in 1993 at Ringgold Middle School. He taught eighth grade Language Arts and Reading, and coached soccer, cross country, quiz bowl, and the math team. In 1999, he moved to the district office as a technology specialist. In 2001, Dr. Rich moved to Ringgold Elementary as a fifth grade teacher to get back into the classroom and be at the same school as his daughters, Ashley and Haley. 

      Dr. Rich became a school administrator in 2005, moving to Woodstation Elementary School to serve as the assistant principal. He moved to Davis Elementary School in Dade County, Georgia, in 2007 to serve as principal and as the district Director of Technology. He has served as principal of West Side Elementary School since 2011. 

      Dr. Rich has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a Masters of Education in Elementary Education from UTC, an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University, and an Educational Doctorate degree in Educational Administration from Liberty University.

      Dr. Rich and his wife Paula are active members of Christ United Methodist Church, and enjoy spending time with family, friends, and their dogs, Katie and Max.
