As a schoolwide Title I school, West Side Elementary School receives funds from the US Department of Education each year. We use these funds to help our students increase their academic achievement, according to our school improvement plan goals. We currently use the funds to provide intervention specialists to help students who are struggling in English Language Arts and/or math, an academic coach to help our teachers stay current with research and best practices in teaching ELA and math, a Parent Coordinator to help us reach out to families on how to help their children succeed, technology based intervention programs in ELA and math, and classroom resources. If you have suggestions on how we can use our Title I funds to help our students, please send them in writing to me by email at [email protected] or stop by and see our Title I Family Engagement Coordinator.
