West Side Elementary School School Status Report to Parents
It is the philosophy of Catoosa County Schools to provide quality instruction through highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals to our students. We work to meet this requirement by hiring teachers who are certified in their area of instruction or are actively involved in the testing and evaluation process of obtaining this certification. Paraprofessionals must meet State requirements for license and professional development. All the teachers and paraprofessionals at West Side Elementary School are highly qualified. Should a teacher or paraprofessional leave during the year, we will send you a newsletter keeping you updated about the status of any new teacher(s) and paraprofessional(s).

Each year our students take the Milestones state assessment to measure academic performance. We are proud to announce that West Side Elementary School has not been identified as a "Priority", "Focus" or "Alert" school. We are considered in good academic standing. Our academic focus this year will be increasing student achievement in English language arts (including reading and writing), science and math.
We appreciate the support your have given to our school. Our mission is to be a student-focused learning community, where excellence is expected from staff and students, every day, without exception.
If you have any questions concerning school status, please contact me by email at [email protected] or by phone at 706-866-9211.

Sincerely,
Anita Gaines
Principal
